Our valley, the Tux Valley, enchants guests with an unbeatable location and an extensive network of ski lifts and pistes. The Tux Valley is a large part of the Ski and Glacier World Zillertal 3000. In the center of each town you can directly access the following mountain railways:
- Hintertux Glacier
Discover the power of the mountain world and take advantage of your holiday for extensive hikes. Tux offers 350 km of marked hiking trails and 150 km of signposted Nordic walking trails. Enjoy the nature and relax in the Nature Park Zillertal Alps with its 422km².
The Zillertal offers 800km of bike tours in all levels of difficulty. Directly from our house you can start 4 impressive tours with mountainbikes or e-bikes up in the mountains. Outstanding advice and equipment to enjoy impressive tours with e-bikes or mountainbikes can be found in the numerous sports shops around the valley.
Other sports activities
The Panorama Terrace at 3.250 m at the Hintertux Glacier gives you a view from the Großglockner over the Dolomites to the Zugspitze.
The Nature Ice Palace at the Hintertux Glacier is open all year round and is one of our natural wonders. Europes largest natural cave “Spannagelhöhle” on the Hintertux Glacier invites you to discover a world of crystals.
The “Mehlerhaus” in Madseit – built in the 17th century, offers great and varied exhibitions. You can have a lance into the past of the valley.
FAMILY & KIDS
The Tux Valley greatly appreciates families and children and constantly tries to create new things and sweeten children’s holidays:
Tux offers 5 children’s ski- and snowboarding schools, a spacious children’s park at the mountain station of Eggalmbahn, Pepis Kinderklub at the Penkenjoch or the 1,000 m² indoor playarena. The adventure trail along the Tuxbach is another adventure. A highlight and an alpine cool down in the summer is the Gletscherflohpark at the Sommerberg (at the Hintertux Glacier).
Children’s canyoning in the mountain streams, more exciting cable cars are other activities.
